Supported Living Services

Supported living services comprise a broad range of services to adults who need professional support to enable them to live successfully in the community and who choose to live in accommodation (normally arranged in consultation with local authority adult care services) they lease or, in rare cases, own.

JMC provide the support/care aspect and liaise on behalf of the client with the landlord of each property. We offer person-centred support i.e. tailored to every client’s needs and aspirations. Where required, we can arrange access to a wide range of high quality properties. Having chosen a suitable property, the service user enters into a tenancy agreement with the landlord in the ordinary way.

Our scheme is designed to give the service user a heightened sense of belonging in the community and also promote social integration. In supported living, clients have to deal with everything that occurs in daily adult life – cooking, cleaning, budgeting, education, leisure, holidays, health issues, even employment –  with appropriate staff input to help and guide them throughout.

To promote this, JMC staff are constantly available providing the level of support and guidance agreed under the care package. We deploy ‘core’ staff in each house 24 hours per day. Above the ‘core’ hours we always deliver the agreed staff to client ratio e.g. 2:1 or higher if necessary. Beyond that, 1:1 support to meet any specific needs or facilitate external activities is always available as agreed in advance with commissioners during care planning.
